Biography
Ezz Elawady is an Egyptian filmmaker, director, and writer based in Cairo. He began his artistic career creating digital visual content on YouTube before transitioning to narrative and documentary filmmaking. He wrote and produced his debut independent short film, Hady, in 2022, which earned international festival recognition, including Official Selections at the Digital Gate International Film Festival and First-Time Filmmaker Sessions.

Currently studying Film at the British University in Egypt (BUE), Elawady’s work centers on exploring the human experience through contrasting genres—ranging from grounded urban realism to speculative dystopian fiction. His documentary short, A Dreamer’s Cairo (2025), won Best Cinematography at the International Student Film & Screenwriting Festival in 2026. His narrative directorial work includes Blow-Dry! (2025) and The Tale of Love (2026).
