Biography
Jan Potocki (8 March 1761 – 23 December 1815) was a distinguished Polish aristocrat, French-language writer, traveler, scientist, and one of the pioneers of archaeology and fantasy. He is best known for his monumental story-book novel The Saragossa Manuscript.
