Biography

Alfonso Ferrer (born November 14, 2000) is a Chilean director and producer. During his childhood, he lived with his family in several cities across the country, exposing him to different realities and ways of life. At the age of 12, he settled in Puerto Montt, in southern Chile, where he began to develop his passion for storytelling.

In 2019, he enrolled in the Film Directing program at Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. In 2023, he co-directed his first short film, “Ducklings”, alongside Isidora Barros and Matías Echeverría. The film was selected for the National Short Film Competition at the 20th Santiago International Film Festival, SANFIC. In 2024, he co-founded the production company Cámbrico Films, through which he has continued developing fiction projects and writing his first feature film, “The Birds at the End of the World”. His work has also led him to collaborate closely with Chilean actors from different generations, strengthening his interest in working with performers and in the construction of characters. He is currently in post-production on his short film “Fallen from Heaven”, an independently produced project with a strong social focus. The film explores abandonment, care, and the unexpected connection between two people from different generations and backgrounds, with particular attention to vulnerable children and older adults.
