Biography

Daniel Tsvetanov Georgiev (born April 19, 1999) is a young Bulgarian filmmaker, photographer & musician growing up in Norway. He became acquainted with the camera at an early age and started doing photography seriously from when he was 16. After directing, self-shooting and editing a number of short films in high school, he moved abroad to the UK to study filmmaking.

Through the medium of film, sound and music, he aims to combine and express his eclectic and often surreal ideas. So far, his films have gone into the realm of being dreamy and atmospheric with little dialogue. His most recent work includes directing and photography on “A Place for Sailors” (2020); an experimental documentary film made by a small group of 5 filmmakers in the UK. With a successful round in the film festival circuit “A Place for Sailors” was showcased at; Screener Short Films, Sheffield Short Film Festival, Wimbledon International Short Film Festival, Manchester Lift-Off Film Festival, Deep Fried Film Festival, WeMakeFilms International Film Festival and won the best sound design, best soundtrack, best colour grade and best micro-short documentary awards at White Deer International Film Festival.
