Biography
Ivan Busquets is a visual effects supervisor at Industrial Light & Magic. He launched his career in visual effects in 2003. Busquets joined Industrial Light & Magic (ILM) in 2010 as a Compositing Artist on Pirates of the Caribbean: On Stranger Tides. Over the years, he has contributed his creative vision and technical expertise to numerous ILM projects, while also playing a pivotal role in advancing the compositing department’s tools and pipeline.

In 2013, Ivan moved to ILM’s Vancouver studio, where he took on the role of Compositing Supervisor for major productions including Warcraft, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and Thor: Ragnarok. His leadership and artistry led to his promotion to Associate Visual Effects Supervisor in 2017. A native of Barcelona, Spain, Ivan earned his Bachelor of Arts in Audiovisual Communication from Universitat Pompeu Fabra. Initially drawn to writing and directing, his path shifted after an internship at a boutique VFX studio in Barcelona revealed his passion for visual effects—a passion he has pursued ever since.
