Biography
Peter Goedel is a director of films, primarily in the documentary field, radio features and radio plays. He was born in Torgau/Elbe and grew up in Halle/Saale and Potsdam. After graduating from high school, he fled to the West with his parents and brother. After completing his high school diploma in Stuttgart, he studied literature and theatre studies, art history, and philosophy in Cologne and Munich.

Subsequently, he worked as a dramaturge and assistant director at various theatres. His first directing credits included works by Brecht and Arrabal. From 1972 onwards, he worked as an assistant director on various film and television production and directed his first smaller contributions to the children's television program "Die Sendung mit der Maus" (The Show with the Mouse). From 1974 onwards, Goedel worked as a freelance employee, author and director for various television stations, especially for WDR, HR and BR, culture and film departments.
